By the river

I like the river.

The fresh chilly air,

the sound of the waves crushing on the rocks.

City sounds driven away by a calming sensation. 

The sound of the wind in the tree leaves.

Little sparkles of sunlight dancing, glistening.

The sky immersing into the watery blue.

clouds as far as my eyes can reach,

constantly changing shape.

by the river, I breathe.

Ik hou van de rivier.

De frisse koele lucht,

Het geluid van de golven die stukslaan op de rotsen.

Stadsgeluiden verdreven door een kalmerende sensatie.

Het geluid van de wind tussen de boombladeren.

Kleine vonkjes zonlicht dansend, glinsterend.

De lucht ondergedompeld in het waterige blauw.

Wolken zover als het oog reikt,

voortdurend veranderend van vorm.

Bij de rivier adem ik.
